Although pregnancy is perfectly natural, expectant mothers are not always in the best of health. A pregnant bridesmaid will feel obligated to put the wedding day ahead of any discomfort, morning sickness or any other pregnancy related ailments she may be experiencing just so she does not feel as if she is spoiling the wedding preparations. Pregnancy can make it harder for the bridesmaid to let the bride know that she cannot make it to the wedding rehearsal because she is suffering from morning sickness or if she has a doctor’s appointment that clashes with the wedding plans. She will likely feel guilty and keep quiet about any problems she is having. In conclusion, you must ultimately decide for yourself whether it would be wise to ask a pregnant friend to be your bridesmaid. Look closely at your own circumstances and your friend’s personal circumstances before you make a final decision. It may be possible to fit your friend’s pregnancy around your wedding plans so that she can still be your bridesmaid.
